Raw Beauty
November 18, 2018 by phil | AutumnThe forest was behind me! Well, a tree or two. I took a left instead of a right this morning. I was all ready to head up to the woods before dawn, and something in me said “Go to the sea!” So I did : ) I waded through the Three Trouts stream and crossed the railway line, crouched down amongst the rocks to capture the sun cresting. It was really beautiful. What wasn’t beautiful? The massive wave which crashed over me as I gazed lovingly through the lens, completely submerging me. Was quite a shock. Luckily the camera is watertight! Me, not so much. The other thing about this morning, and the reason for the title – was I shot in RAW, for the first time ever (I can almost hear the photogs shudder at my amateurishness : ) I routinely shoot 1000 – 1500 pictures on a reccy, so I just don’t have the space, either on the camera card, or on my PC, to store that kind of data. But man, the detail in these shots this morning…
