You always hear about needing patience as a photographer, and that’s so true – but for me, luck is also a big part of it. When I looked out at the weather on this particular day, the sky was just a slab of roiling cloud…with a chinks of blue here and there. Ever the optimist,  I reckoned if I headed up towards the Sallygap, I might get lucky with a sunbeam. I sat and watched the rain drifting down in veils above Lough Teagh, and for the briefest moment, this bloom of sunlight broke through and flared behind a distant tree. It was gone in about three seconds. Patience and luck : )

The crop is a bit noisy and slightly blurry but I loved the painterly feel.
