As these dawn shoots went on, I experimented more and more with shooting directly into the sun – right down the lens. Spiderwebs do an amazing thing – they catch circular light, like tunnels. I know you’re probably thinking, of course – spiderwebs are circular! – but these weren’t, they were like strips of silk, draped across the undergrowth. When I lined the sun up directly, these strands caught perfect arcs of fire. Was amazing. This shot ended up quite noisy so I have lifted it and softened it a little – just in the interest of full processing disclosure!
