I had amazing luck with critters today. More dragonflies, hummingbird hawkmoths, Carpenter bees, many butterflies, frogs, newts….was magic. I found this guy perched on a thistle at the edge of an oak forest. My very Attenborough-ian mate assures me it’s a cricket but please correct me if it isn’t! He sat perfectly till for about five minutes, fairly nonplussed as I got closer and closer. This was about 10 cm from his face! Total poser.
