Dawnlight is such a beautiful colour – and it only lasts about 5 minutes. This is a tiny forest on the edge of Lake Windermere, tucked away at the lake’s edge. I think of it as a secret place, because I’m always there at sunrise, and in all the years I’ve been going, I’ve never met another soul. It’s a magic thing, to stand there watching this light bloom across the roots, catching the new May leaves like flecks of glass.
