Tumbling Light

January 31, 2014  by phil  |  Summer

I found this waterfall after a long climb up through a beautiful forest in the Lake District – it was a really dull day, and I wasn’t getting a lot of shots. I sat there for a good while, messing with different settings, experimenting with how to shoot the water to capture a bit of texture (all that geeky photography stuff), when this single beam of light blazed into the clearing. It was sublime. It was gone within a couple of minutes – I think I took about  a hundred shots while it was there. This image is a stitch of about 20 x 18 Megapixel shots, so would print about 3 metres wide.
